Mode tribute to the national music artist Lucio D. San Pedro
The composer and choir director Jerry A. Dadap often told this story about two national music artist Lucio D. San Pedro, and Levi Celerio composer, lyricist. The two created the immortal song "His Ugoy ng Duyan," that hymn to love as a mother. One day, the two met again after some time, composer and lyricist said happily. "Ang Ganda ng Kanta his words Napaiyak Tuloy ko mo ako" (your words were so good it made me cry).
"Ako rin napaiyak" (I cried too), Celerio had said.
"Bakit?" (Why?)
"Hindi mo pa ako binabayaran Kasi" (Because you do not pay me.)
San Pedro is the last national artists, whose work inspired the series of collectors Freeway way, a collection of fashion Freeway, a retailer with stores across the country. Other national artists will also architect Leandro Locsin, artist Vicente Manansala, Ang kiukok artist, poet Jose Garcia Villa, couturier Ramon Valera, novelist F. Sionil Jose honored, visual artist Botong Francisco, and lyricist Celerio itself.
The unique collection is from a fashion show (optional) and a program of national experts on the works of artists and members of his family (and national artists themselves started when he was still living, as in the case of Jose).
A well-known personality will host the show.
Collection San Pedro
The San Pedro collection was launched in the main office of Freeway in La Glorietta, Makati City recently. Present were members of the family of the late composer Antonio Hila, music critic and regular contributor to the Inquirer.
Moderator was a singer Rachel Alejandro, who with some OPM songs like "Kahit Na" and held "Saan Ka Man Naroroon."
A video presentation on San Pedro by the Cultural Center of the Philippines was shown.
Gracing the occasion were the daughters of Ma San Pedro. Cristina San Pedro Salita, Rhodora de los Santos, the son-in-law Alberto de los Santos, and granddaughter Mary Grace San Pedro, a soprano who also directed Angono Rizal New School Choir sings some famous compositions as National Artist "Ang Buwan its Kabundukan "," Lahing Kayumanggi "and, of course," His Ugoy ng Duyan. "
Note his father, Ma Cristina said he was a very loving father, but, like all artists have moods.
"We had to tiptoe when he together," she shared. "And if he was disturbed, he would weep-excuse the word punieta!"
As another famous town mate, Botong Francisco, San Pedro was also very involved in the church in Angono, Rizal, and the city wanted all the choirs to sing his first songs.
"He really had a passion for bands," said De los Santos.
There were seven bands in the city, including marching bands.
Hila welcomed the national artist as "creative nationalist whose musical language comes from the people, the folk songs."
He added: "If you, the popular character, his music is to listen to the language there." Alejandro grasp the toll of the evening when she said that San Pedro "is about uplifting the community."

weeks of British fashion for men: The main players
Today is the opening day of London Collections: Men, a fashion festival three days for the stock with a schedule that is strong enough to crack. This is a good indicator of Britain's position in the arena of international men's fashion - which now accounts for 50 percent of the global market for luxury goods worth over £ 24,000,000,000th But honestly, this adobe schedules are nothing intimidating bar for a fashion journalist. Sleep, it seems, is for the next season.chanel 2.55 classic flap bag
For Spring / Summer 2014 Burberry Prorsum is the big story: namely, the first exhibition of menswear brand in the London calendar. They raised their sticks usual Milanese territory and it makes perfect sense, signature trench coat brand is much more comfortable in the rain flooded London on sunny climates of Lombardy streets. A wet Kensington Gardens, showing the position of the brand, it feels much more British. Burberry and many more. There is no preview of the Burberry collection first: Creative Director of the brand, Christopher Bailey, a nannying the press infiltration stops possible. In fact, the live stream viewers will get to see the clothes in front of the press, such as Burberry is broadcasting live backstage. Verbalize about the collection a few days in advance? No dice. It's a preview video on YouTube that shows some adaptation blue sky and sunny yellow. Wishful thinking for the summer of 2014? Your guess is as good as mine.
Fortunately, some of the other creative talents were in London is ready to give an insight into their rail Menswear before the performance. For a journalist, this is golden. It allows you to discuss with their clothes one by one, unraveling (figuratively of course) their inventions. It would be impossible to have a clock speed through the snake Richard Nicoll model is woven rather than printed, for example, or crispy JW Anderson knits are double-sided, concealed with smocking. You have to turn inside out in order to understand. It's the same with the heads of designers: How could the link between fences and knitted network of brothers and sisters? Or colored E Tautz Patrick Grant Agreement and the first of three pieces of Charles II supported. The brains of these designers make them and their clothes so brilliant.
Exclusively in the run-up to London Collections: Men, says The Independent on Sunday by a quartet of the best British fashion and shows a little of what they have in store for Spring / Summer 2014.
Brothers and sisters
Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery are the trio behind the brother label knitwear. The word "knitting", but burdened as it is folk cable with moldy imaging Aran knitwear and sweaters, seems an inadequate description of what they do. Brothers and Sisters was inspired by the London riots 2011, Richard Hell, Leigh Bowery and Paula Yates, while knitting a denim jacket for a fox fur with the head and feet or encrusted leopard cardigans sequins. For their spring 2014 show tomorrow, she watched West Side Story, with the inspiration of the esoteric (grid of New York basketball) to the obvious (the Jets and Sharks logos are broadly defined). Everything is knitted, but decorated with elaborate engravings by artist Richard Woods or embroidered emblems and tattoos cheesecake pinup Laura Lee. It's also a good dose of Miami Vice worthy knit pastels and a touch of lace: exactly the kind of thing that might have you seen a Fifties New York punk swaggering around "masculine men can wear things that are really girly" McCreery says, with a medallion cardigan height Then she laughed. "I mean, God, West Side Story is so camp!"
J W Anderson
There was not much hanging on the rail when I visited the studio of Jonathan Anderson on Monday. Well, that's a lie - it was his great resort collection 2014 for women and some guys wavy neutral knit like the bark of the tree, and three pairs of wool pants pocket Oxford. The rest was, in his own words, a "work in progress", even if it was only one week until the work was advancing on the podium. But Anderson, 28, lives in the tension last minute - it's part of what makes their clothing so electrifying. Knits cardboard cut-out shapes and subtle eighties avant-garde antics of Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto to be victims Resort references are a good indicator of the next men's fashion. His boys and girls still share a wardrobe: the last season, witness the love-it-or-hate-it ruffles and headbands. For the spring 2014 Anderson has a special focus on the silhouette. It is like a column dress, he said - but for him. It also throws words like "modernity", "clean" or "sterile". But they are against the creeping sensuality Halter Neckline sits exposed and chopped meat and wrapped in the body until in the final result looks like a cross between Araki bondage, obi belt and fabric origami.
E Tautz
"We do not need too much to the idea of ??marrying suit," said Patrick Grant said. It is in the Norton & Sons Savile Row HQ as he says, and you expect an angry group knife to cut down his door at any time to the honor of the E Tautz, a former tailor Sir Winston Churchill, under which label Grant, right, shows in London Collections defend. Branch men Schneider Grant, about Norton & Sons, doing business in the pound sterling in the department and appropriate start time. E Tautz where subsidy can experiment. For spring, he was looking at the opulence of the menswear Sixties legends Mr. Fish and Granny Takes a Trip, Blades and Savile Row wild children and Tommy Nutter, who drove back to the 1660s, and Charles II, "the first attempt - Brocade .. silk panties petticoat "It's fair to say, E Tautz dandy looks for spring 2014.
Richard Nicoll

Richard Nicoll is a realist. This is something that always the female fashion GENUINE Australian London-based designer has failed. It was a refreshing adequate sensitivity since its introduction in 2005. It is also the foundation for his men's collection, is now in its third season. "This is a line of jeans really," Nicoll said modestly, the spring / summer collection 2014 is later today. And in fact there is a humility to fabric - canvas, denim, cotton lawn. Inspiration Nicoll's "Individualism and beautiful ugliness", references, portraits of the new wave and punk inhabitants of Zurich in 1970. He speaks of glamor and DIY undercurrent gay. But the underlying Nicoll is a lot more down there so much, garish fashion offers gay grab bar. The only explicit key? A series of engravings of suggestive and semi-clad boys cut snakes porn mags and collages by the legendary world of art punk and long-term employee Nicoll Linder Sterling, the first part of an exclusive collection, designed together.
Exclusive: Louis Vuitton brands Dinosaur Posters
We have long thought that Louis Vuitton handbags are epic worthy of a museum, but now their flagship store is also.
From tomorrow on Fifth Avenue house Louis Vuitton seem models of dinosaur fossils in the windows, offshoring and interact with classic Vuitton bags, including Speedy, the Sofia Coppola (created in collaboration with the filmmaker) and Alma. Mannequins dressed in Vuitton 2013 collection pre-fall "climb" the dinosaurs, too (but with much less bloodshed and other accessories in the state of Laura Dern in Jurassic Park).
The project was inspired by a visit to the Museum of Natural History in French Les Jardins des Plantes in Paris. As these exclusive behind-the-scenes studio pictures Vuitton show, if history repeats itself, it is sometimes much more chic.

-bit-for-bit: Art and craft heritage equestrian define Hermès
As a horse person and avid dressage judge, I had been many equestrian events. But this time it was different.
I went to Paris to enjoy the fourth annual CSI five stars Saut Hermès jumping. With top riders in the world competing on the historic Grand Palace, just a few minutes from the Champs-Elysees, he became one of the hottest tickets on the track jumping. "The Great Hall has a capacity of 4500," said Patrick Thomas, CEO and President of Hermes, "And this year we received more than 12,000 requests for tickets."
I arrived around lunch time as a guest of Hermes, a house that was built on the power since 1837 when its founder Thierry Hermes set up a harness and saddle shop in Paris. Since then the company has expanded far beyond the stool, and was known for impeccably crafted leather handbags, belts, and men's and women's fashion, which helped build the brand one of the world's most exclusive labels.
What made it different journey for me it was a rare visit to the Hermes factory, a look at one of the best brands in the world, where I learned that, although the scene before the Paris flagship store may have opened since 1880, not is much different in the workshop.
In the factory, Hermès still employs artisans trained in fashion each seat by hand. The newest addition to the family, jumping saddle Cavale, borrows from the world of beds as it is injected with a commonly used type of memory foam in the manufacture of mattresses. The result is a lightweight, comfortable saddle. I can attest to its comfort, because I could test on a horse in the Grand Palais.
How Hermes saddles are hand bags and scarves crafted by people with generations of know-how. The formation of new artisans will take several years before all the bags in all types of leather such as crocodile. I had the opportunity to both the bag and the silk scarf and commitment to quality is evident to visit plants. Worthy of the brand, Hermes products are expensive - a handbag Kelly can start at more than $ 8000 and a silk scarf 70cm costs about $ 375 - but here in the factory, you can see why. Produce a bag takes days during scarf makes a company more than 800 hours to workers.
With handbags, a single craftsman for production of a bag from start to in a nod to his roots equestrian is responsible ready, the saddle is still used today, and all prices are hand made in reverse only with the zipper and inside pocket sewn to the machine. "The bags can be ordered, for example, if you want to change the size of Kelly," says Jocelyn Zerbib craftsman "or they can be customized to include a variety of colors and gemstones or precious stones like diamonds." And, if repair is required, the bag is on the person or their teaching, where she was retired from the company.
In the factory scarf Lyon, the process is just as intense. Hermes buys his own silkworms and produce high quality custom silk. "For 50 years we have bought our silkworms China," said Tidiane Kamel, Director of Communications, silk. "But now we have the source of Brazil because they have better quality and consistency of the Hermes thread needs." Most competitors ready-made silk printing to reduce costs. Hermes artisans weave their own, which is more expensive, but a part of their philosophy on quality, engraving a color acetates to time to the fabric for ties, hemming and hand cut and roll the edges of the scarf.
In a world where goods assembly lines are the norm, that Hermes still insist that most of its products by hand, puts the same way he has done for over 175 years, its market - an exclusive no doubt, but one that appeals to all who appreciate quality.
"We are never in a hurry. We step by step," says Thomas. "We want the best quality and it takes 10 years to produce a product, it's perfect for us."
